Long time no personal update. Sometimes it’s nice to write without a set agenda and just talk about life. Life is good. Summer has only just arrived, whether or not the London weather holds up its end of the bargain, and I feel like I have made a good and productive start to the holidays. As far as summer bucket lists go these are my goals: holiday, art project, read some newly purchased novels, visit home and return to a part-time job.
So far: check, check, check, train tickets booked and interviewing processes underway.
Uni summers are incredibly long. I have just under three months of free time to fill and, as this will be my last long summer before I am an official 9 to 5, no half-term, working Londoner for the foreseeable future, I am determined to make the most out of it. I am planning more holidays to go on (budget, of course) and, should it stop raining, I still have a long long list of places left in home city to visit- London is a big big place, and the majority of the good stuff is absolutely free!
Speaking of university, I finished second year feeling accomplished. I average out around 75- a first, if you will! I’m proud and surprised. When I say that I want to finish university with a first degree in Philosophy, I say it because even if I fail, a high 2:1 is hardly falling short of excellence. But to actually be achieving firsts feels pret-ty good.
Bettering yourself feels good. So, I’m also eating healthily these days. I know I put on a few pounds during my holiday- some food weight, some alcohol weight, and so now I am repenting thoroughly. Yoghurt, bananas, strawberries, melon, snackajacks, houmous, carrot sticks, brown rice, chicken and peppers are my life now. So that’s that. Some light exercise wouldn’t hurt either, let’s be honest. The important thing is, this isn’t a crash diet for a skinny body; this is a lifestyle change to feel better (and looking trim is just another consequence of that).
I’m also writing more- for myself, not for someone else to pay me off to put their name on my work. Some of what I write will go on here so expect more heartfelt posts now that I have the time. Also, with new time as well as long lost inspiration. You can expect a post three times a week for a while: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!
Thank you, as always, for being regular visitors.
