Hygge Home Decor

With Autumn nearly moving aside for Winter and Christmas decorations coming into play, it is definitely time to get cosy! With my love for decor and the colder seasons, I really wanted to write about cosy home decor this week. Without further ado. Here are some simple ways to get hygge and cosy this winter!

Cushions

Especially if you have an entire house to make cosy, cushions are key! Tis the season of loved ones visiting so set up plenty of comfortable spots in your home! This particular shot is of my window seat, half-arsed put together a few weekends ago. It consists of an old throw and old cushion from my family home. Cushions don’t have to be expensive! Top tip: head to H&M for cushion covers under a fiver and swap your covers with the seasons without buying any new actual cushions!

Throws and Blankets

If you have ever been a university student then I’m going to bet that you already have plenty of blankets from the days of no heating and damp accommodation! You can put a throw literally anywhere and it will make a space more hygge, cosy and inviting. Over a chair, across an armchair or sofa, at the end of the bed or in a stack on the lounge floor. Faux fur and soft knit blankets make for a cosy home!

Candles

You can never have too many candles! Tea lights, The White Company favourites, salt lamps, whatever you like. Have them on the desks, units, side tables and coffee tables. Unwind and enjoy all of the festive scents! Atmospheric lighting is everything and the easiest way of adding cosy touches to your home decor. (Plus, hygge).

Tea

Not strictly home decor but definitely a hygge home necessity! Make sure your cupboards are stocked up wit the good stuff! From hot date chai to salted caramel, gingerbread and Tetleys, we have it all at the ready to get cosy!
