As you already know by now, I am a complete skincare enthusiast, I have, as I already mentioned, really dry and sensitive skin ever since a facial chemical burn. The winter always dries me out and makes my make up feel bitty and my face sore so I thought I would share with you, after many trials of many different products, my top three winter skincare essentials!
I’m going to start with the first of these products that I use in my skincare regime and that is, you guessed it, the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser!
I adore this product; micellar water is okay but I need something more this time of year and I get a lot more out of this incredible product. I literally cannot sing its praises enough, it has changed my skincare for the better and really takes good care of my skin. It is dual purpose; you pump a bit onto your hands and rub it all around your face to break up make up and cleanse your pores and then you soak the muslin cloth in hot water and wipe everything off your face. It is therefore a cleanser and an exfoliator, hence ‘cleanse and polish’. I can’t really use facial scrubs because of the sensitivity of my skin but the muslin cloth just gently buffs away any dead skin easily and I just adore how clean, soft and nourished my skin feels after, like it is completely new and refreshed. I would recommend this product to anyone, I am it’s biggest fan!
Secondly, I go on to use the Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser. It is quite thick in texture and smooth and I just sweep it all over my face, gently patting it in and it soaks in fairly easily but with a reassuring film of moisture that protects my face from any further drying. I wear it both at night time and underneath my make up and it doesn’t affect my make up routine at all. It’s an all round good product, nicely packaged, screw on lid to keep it fresh, simple, not too fragranced, thick with quality and just an absolute treat for the skin. My winter skin desperately needs to drink this on the daily!
You’re advised to use the moisturiser after Liz Earle’s Tonic Spritzer and they kindly sent me one to try and I love it because it is so easy and allows you to tick off toning in seconds. I didn’t feature it in today’s post, however, because my main focus is on dry winter skin and my favourite oil based products.
The third and final in my top three winter skincare essentials has to be, of course, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. I bought this mainly for the purpose of soothing and repairing dry chapped lips- we all get like this! My lips are prone to drying, splitting and just generally being a little irritated over the colder months and so I cannot be without this. I love me a good chapstick but I just find that this fruity smelling thick honey-like serum is the best fix I have ever discovered! I also use it on my nose after colds because my nose get dry skin and this soothes and nourishes the skin right back to normal. It is also really good for dry knuckles and cuticles so just go and get one and pop it in your handbag!
I hope that this post is really helpful in keeping your skin hydrated, soft and smooth this winter- and if you don’t already have these products in your skincare collection then at least you know what to ask your loved ones for this Christmas!
Lots of love,
