Having been in a skincare slump for the last couple of months, I’ve been recovering from getting our new place. Since then I did a skincare haul! Spoils included the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, matching toner and the brand new Origin’s GinZing collection.
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
Though I swear by Kiehls Avocado Eye Cream (the green counteracts redness and dark circles), I heard the Origins GinZing eye cream was amazing and I can see why.
It reduces puffiness which is great for hay fever sufferers and people who sleep on their face! I didn’t recognise immediate brightening but it is refreshing and good for the weekday morning blues. It’s a pick me up pot!
I won’t ignore the fact that this product is expensive. The technology behind it is the reason why, however. It strengthens capillaries and increases blood circulation to the eye area to strengthen the skin there, reducing the likelihood of wrinkles. I’m told it’s a long-term improvement so I guess time will tell if I’ll ever prefer it to my usual eye cream.
GinZing Peel-Off Mask
This Origins GinZing Peel-Off Mask made me feel like an orange. Packaging is great but application can be messy around the tube. I was reluctant to use it the first time because it is literally pure orange glitter and I don’t like shimmer in products but it didn’t leave any shimmer behind which is good.
You should apply the mask quite generously and it is tight and hard within minutes. I tend to leave it on for at least five minutes before I peel it off. I find it quite difficult to peel off in places unless it has been put on quite thick.
It did brighten my face a little but if I were to make a facemark myself, it wouldn’t be orange coloured. I wouldn’t run the risk of a red-based colour in a product line that’s trying to reduce redness. That being said, it’s refreshing, it feels great and leaves the skin smooth and soft. And I’m a sucker for products with caffeine in!
