So if you have been keeping tabs on me then you will know that I read and LOVED ‘Delirium’ by Lauren Oliver. When I realised that it was actually the first book of a trilogy, I could not contain my excitement and ended up purchasing the next two books in the story.
I recently finished the second book of the trilogy, ‘Pandemonium’ and it was just as good as the first one. This book was even more addictive than the first one and I read half of it within a day, purely because I couldn’t bring myself to put the book down. The story just flows so effortlessly that it’s hard to choose when to stop reading.
The layout of this book is quite strange to get used to. It begins with an out of place introduction (which I didn’t see any link to at the end so I’m not really sure why it started that way) and alternates between the ‘now’ and the ‘then’ of the protagonist’s story. However, I did think that this was rather clever as each chapter ended on a cliffhanger and you had to read either into the present or the past to get to the next chapter to see what happened.
The tension between main characters was electric, the plot kept me guessing and the ending was just astounding!
I praise this book as much as the first one and I am currently a quarter of the way through the third and final book so watch this space for that review.
Do go and purchase this trilogy. It might just be the best modern romance tragedy I have read.
