In a bid to wake up earlier and do more exercise, my best friend and I have decided to walk around Richmond Park every morning. My house is literally next to the park so it’s kind of outrageous that we haven’t done this sooner when the only effort it takes is to lace up our Nike’s and walk out of my house and through the park gate!
I love it. That’s the only way of summing it up.
I miss walking my dog every day since moving away and so this is therapeutic. Additionally, I have always found that just walking at a reasonably quick pace has always kept the weight off me and been enough exercise for me. That’s one of the reasons we decided to do this in the first place: for exercise. The other reasons consist of wanting to take advantage of being so lucky as to live so close to the beautiful park. I also think that getting out of the house first thing in the morning every day for some fresh air is way healthier than laying around in bed until lunchtime and possibly not leaving the house at all that day.
It also means I see my friend every single day, even when we’re busy, to gossip and catch up and strut out everything we’ve got and sightsee all the deer and lakes. It’s pretty great.
I think country air makes me stupid though. I tend to giggle through the rest of the day, annoying anyone in my wake with energetic positivity.
Anyway, I just wanted to note how happy it makes me to still get a green fix in the city. Nature looks alright in the morning I s’pose.
