What I got for my 21st Birthday

Hello lovelies,

I have been celebrating my 21st birthday recently with lots of family and friends. I received lots of lovely gifts and they’re all so pretty so I thought, as people really enjoy these kind of posts, that I would share them here.

My parents bought me this beautiful Alex Monroe Baby Bee necklace from Liberty’s. Its so delicate and sweet and I’ve been wanting to buy better quality jewellery lately so this is perfect and I’m really grateful!

They also added to my pandora bracelet from the Essence collection with two more beads: loyalty and positivity. Loyalty is the blue/green bead and positivity is the white marble-like bead. Both are so beautiful and I’ve been meaning to get some ever since Adam bought the bracelet but that was last year and I just didn’t get around to but its so lovely to receive them from someone as a gift.

My parents came down to spend a weekend with me in London doing some of my favourite things and though I knew about the birthday breakfast on Sunday, I didn’t know they were surprising me with anything on Saturday night but somehow they managed to get an incredible cake from the West Midlands to London. A minnie mouse inspired two tier cake with pink macarons! Not only did this cake look amazing but it tasted delicious too! The top cake was battenberg inspired and the lower tier was chocolate and salted caramel- divine! It’s so pretty and perfect and I’m so lucky I can’t believe they did this!

My brother kindly donated a sum of money to my moving fund which is lovely because it’s really important to me and my sister hunted down my favourite candles and wrapped them up with this pretty silver leaf candle holder. It’s making my evenings extra cosy!

Family also sent cards, money, champagne, gift cards and perfume gift sets which I was really appreciative of!

My housemates bought me some books (yay!) that I have been wanting for a while; The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and The Luminaries- both really beautiful and really chunky so I can’t wait to start them after my exams and moving and all the crazy has calmed down!

My best friend Sophie bought me the coolest cake slice ever because I adore cake! This came in handy as we tried to demolish the leftover birthday cake! She also bought me this beautiful wood figurine symbolising our friendship which was sweet. It is so pretty and I can’t wait for it to live on my bookshelf in the new flat! She also satisfied my other food cravings with this butter popcorn that I’m going to devour when we next watch Game of Thrones! My friend Megan bought me some really beautiful champagne flutes but we both agreed that they’d be safer kept with her until we move into our new place where they can be stored away!

Adam finished my cushion collection off with this pretty Geometrical cushion from Urban Outfitters that I’ve been wanting for a while. It’s so pretty and looks perfect in my desk chair as we’re going monochrome for the office so I’m really pleased that he managed to find it and really grateful! He also spoiled me with my first candle from The White Company.

This seychelles candle smells so delicious! It smells fresh but with vanilla scents and I fell in love with it a while ago but decided I couldn’t spend that much on a small candle but I am so happy that Adam bought it for me and cannot wait to burn it in the new house so I’m saving it for those special first few days- no doubt for a small piece of zen in the evenings after busy days of after-work unpacking!

Basically, I have been absolutely spoiled rotten for my birthday and I am so in love with everything, the jewellery, the books, the gifts for my new house, all the helpful donations and I’ve had a lovely weekend too which I might also post about if I get the time. We visited Camden and Brick Lane and looked at art both in the markets and on the walls. We ate lots of yummy street food and cake and spent lots of family time together which was so lovely!

My friends and I all went for cocktails to ring My birthday in and had a really good night, despite the 4am purge of the sins when my body had enough! We saved ourselves with breakfast at Richmond Park the next morning, a short stroll in the sunshine and a chilled out birthday before dinner at Vapiano in Soho in the evening.

Adam’s parents visited me on the weekend after my birthday and kindly took me out for the weekend as well! They arrived Friday afternoon bearing generous gifts like money and my favourite Ghost perfume and these really adorable candles that look like two different types of cacti planted in layers of varying sand and stones. They look pretty and they smell really fresh with a sweet hint but I don’t think I’ll ever burn them because I don’t know when I’ll next see some more like this! They’ll be such a cute addition to the new place!

Speaking of the new place, we took a long drive to the community near central that we’re hoping to become a part of. It was even better than what we expected it to be- a lot bigger, with better transport links than we could have imagined, our apartment would have riverside views from the balcony and there’s a gym, a spa, a medical centre, pharmacy, dentist, vet, supermarket, pub, cocktail bar and 24/7 security! We are possibly more excited than we have ever been now that we have been there to see it!! (Cheeky house update: we have the estate agent on site looking at upcoming properties that meet our requirements (2 bed, unfurnished that allows pets) and then she’s going to ring us with the one!)

We also had dinner at Vapiano, a walk through Chinatown and a visit to the Breakfast Club the next morning! Another really lovely birthday weekend!

It has been a birthday of good food and wonderful company and I feel very happy and fortunate to be blessed with both. Feeling very loved and looked after right now!
